Personal Experience

Pictures of Rick and I on local paddling excursions in the early spring and fall.  We LOVE the pine river and this is one of our favorite paddles and you can paddle anywhere from 2 hours to 8 hours depending on the location of put in and take out.  Pine River Paddle and Tube will rent your choice of canoe or kayak (and tube) and provide shuttle service, including if you have your own canoes or kayaks, however if you have your own canoe or kayak please contact Mark prior to your trip to make sure that he can accommodate shuttling private only canoes or kayaks as he gets extremely busy during the summer months.  If you want to paddle the pine it will take you about 30-40 minutes from the campground  and north of Richland Center to a put in that will give you 2-4-6 and 8 hour options. Long lake is an 8-10 minute drive from the campground and the Smith Slough and Sand Natural Prairie Area is less than a 5 minute drive from the campground. The pictures include the pine river and long lake in Lone Rock along with Smith Slough and Sand Natural Prairie Area which is about 1 mile from the campground.
